Trick or treat?
Chrysta Rae's photography scavenger hunt autumn 2013 (my no. 4).
Models, studio, digital retouching and postprocessing. Lots of new experience and skills gained. And rewards too.
Thanks to my models: Edgars, Sonja, Ija, Ville-Veikko, and Sara.
The list: THANKFUL, PUMPKIN, TRICK, TREAT, SOOC (straight out of the camera), STUFFED, GOLD, PORTRAIT, CREEPY, MUMMY
Creepy
1st place
hounourable mention
this one is actually called Capricorn. It is form my project of all zodiac signs. I thought it would fir the theme quite well. :)
Trick
1st place
I wanted to do something different from usual interpretation of "trick or treat". So i made an wicked magician.
Gold
2nd place
honourable mention
Stuffed
2nd place
honourable mention
I considered lots of different ideas until this one suddenly came up. Luckily i had enough crews and nails to actually stuff the paprika :). Took me 30 minutes to prepare, shoot and process the image.
Pumpkin
honourable mention
i figured out there will be lots of people with the similar idea (Cinderella theme). Instead of fairy wings i decided for more subtle approach. This picture should be called "Waiting for my Fairy Godmother". It was very difficult to decide between this and more desaturated picture. In the end i chose this, as the pumpkin looked better here :)
Treat
It was a real challenge for me as a photographer to take care of all little details in this setting. Models just did not want to freeze, everything was in constant move. I took about 20 shots until i was satisfied. And still, at home i remembered that i had forgotten to blow girls hair. Yeah, difficult without an assistant... The red one is an apple. It is kind of Eve treating Adam with an apple and some domination :)
Portrait
That one was difficult to do. Sun was constantly emerging from the clouds, and in the end i got only one picture with even light on her face. The chair is antique but broken, we found it in the garbage :)
Thankful
This was one truly desperate attempt to make it to the theme. Maybe not very close, but still better than nothing.
Straight out of camera
after half a day of fighting with macro of this feather, i remembered the one method that i know and that looks good without any processing. So here you are.
